Mets lose 3-1 to Red Sox

After a simply dominating first five innings on behalf of Jacob deGrom, the wheels began to fall off in the sixth. Following a Mookie Betts single, wild pitch, and a Pablo Sandoval double, the Sox had grabbed a 1-0 lead. A Brock Holt RBI groundout made the game 2-0, after which deGrom escaped the inning. Hansel Robles came on in the seventh and gave up a home run to Betts, giving the Sox a 3-0 lead.

The Mets struck back in the bottom half of the seventh following a Juan Uribe double that drove in Kelly Johnson, making it a 3-1 ball game, where the score would stay.

Bartolo Colon came on in the ninth inning to give a tired bullpen some rest, his first relief outing in four years.

Noah Syndergaard will take the mound against Wade Miley tomorrow at Citi Field at 1:10pm. The game will be broadcasted on TBS and SNY.
