Despite multiple sources, Marc Rzepczynski is not the reliever the Mets have reportedly acquired.
The Mets have acquired Diamondbacks reliever Addison Reed, ESPN’s Adam Rubin reports. This year, Reed has worked to a 4.20 ERA in 38 appearances for the D-Backs. In his first 25 appearances of the season, followed by a demotion to Triple-A Reno. After being called back up, Reed has made 13 appearances and owned a 1.65 ERA. 25 years old, Reed has had much more success in his former team, the Chicago White Sox, than the Diamondbacks. He worked to a 3.79 ERA in Chicago in 2013.
The Mets have reportedly traded minor league pitchers Miller Diaz and Matt Koch to the Diamondbacks in the acquisition.
